North from Bakersfield
This is a snapshot I took of the engine at sunset just before leaving Bakersfield headed north to Sacramento. I'll catch a connection in Sac, and onwards to Olympia, WA.BTW, feel free to comment as much as you want. It let's me know there are actually people reading at least parts of this blog.

okay, i didn't know i could comment without signing up for this. We are excited that you are coming for a visit. It isn't plush like the last friend's house you were at. It will be kind of like camping with a roof over you head!
That's a great picture of the San Joaquin-- I love the dusk colors reflecting off the train there.
I've travelled a good part of the U.S. by rail, and your travel blog is sure making me feel railsick (that's in a good way!!)
